A
History of Canadian Tubular Installations LTD.
In
1981, working in the Petro Chemical Industry sectors here in
Canada, offering maintenance and construction, positioned us as
such, that the day to day needs of our Customers was our top
priority.
We were seeing a
tremendous amount of time and money spent on retubing and/or
replacement of heat exchangers, finfan bundles, and condensers.
We took it upon
ourselves to do some investigations. Chemical and metalurgical
evaluations were completed on the used tubes taken from worn out Heat
Exchangers and Condensers.
From this testing and
analysis, it was shown that 85% of the tube failures were isolated in
the first 6" of the failed tubes.
Further investigation
showed that the down time required to change out the bundles and/or
retube was very high.
In 1981, Canadian
Tubular Installations Ltd. (CTI) was born.
Working with our
Engineers and Metalurgists, we developed a procedure that was 10 years
in the making. In 1991 we applied for a patent that went public with
our findings in 1992
On December 3, 1996, we
were granted a Patent# 2,034,343 for the installation of metal inserts
for the repair of damaged tubes.
We have since developed
a system for the full length relining of tubes in situ. This was
filed in 1995 and took 12 years to develop.
On March 20, 2007,
Patent# 2150,316 Method and Apparatus for the Restoration of Heat
Exchangers, Condensers with Full Length Liners was granted.
Most of our work in
Canada is 'Repeat Business'. Our success has been largely due to our
ability to save our Customers tremendous amount of monies over the
cost of replacement and/or retubing with a fraction of the down time.
Our Success could never
have been accomplished without the strong Team we have available
within our Organization and our Offices from Coast to Coast here in
Canada.
